We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.

When you choose a school for your child, you are really choosing a community. For parents and students alike, St. Catherine Labouré Catholic Primary School Gymea is where strong partnerships between home and school are developed, friendships are built and countless memories are made.

Parent engagement takes many forms. You could volunteer in classrooms, chaperone on an excursion or participate in a range of prayer and charitable based works created to support the faith journey’s of all members of our community. We welcome parents on campus for school assemblies and open classroom days, such as our Founder’s Day, to celebrate your child’s learning, and provide authentic opportunities with an audience. You can also get involved in a more structured way through specific parent-led fundraising and community building events at the school or more formally through the Parent Advisory Council.

Communication
We use Compass as our parent portal allowing you to access up-to-date and meaningful information about our school and your child’s progress. Parents are encouraged to attend various meetings with their child’s class teacher including Meet & Greet and Parent-Teacher-Student interviews.

Volunteering
Parents assist in varying ways within the classroom, depending on the needs of the class; these could include activities such as reading, Mathematics groups, PDHPE activities and Sports Days, Art and Craft activities as well as other group work and excursions. We also encourage parents to help in our school library covering books.

Parent Advisory Council
An integral and vital part of our school community is our Parent Committee which provides direction and feedback on social, fundraising and educational efforts in the school.

Before and After School Care
Before and After School Care services is provided by Kirrawee Child Care Centre. The service is operated on school days only from our Benedict Hall.
